Microsoft, which is known for products like Office 365, published a public beta of the OneDrive sync application for macOS with native support for the Apple Silicon platform in December 2021. 3 months later, the corporation has finally released the upgrade to all Mac users, who can now enjoy OneDrive operating natively on the M1, M1 Pro, and M1 Max CPUs. 

According to a Microsoft employee, OneDrive sync for Apple Silicon is now accessible on “GA,” which the corporation refers to as software that is available to all. Version 22.022 of OneDrive for macOS includes native support for the Apple Silicon platform. People may verify if they have the most recent version of the software downloaded by going to the OneDrive settings page.

However, Microsoft is not the only corporation that has been sluggish to adopt its cloud service so it can function natively on M1. Dropbox made a test version of its macOS application with Apple Silicon compatibility accessible earlier in 2022, but it’s yet to be publicly disclosed. Google Drive was to be upgraded with M1 functionality in October last year.
