Utilize Microsoft Outlook to record and submit videos to OneDrive
Soon, certain Microsoft Office 365 Outlook users will be able to record and publish videos. In addition to reading their communications on the platform, they would be able to record videos as well.
The new feature will enable Outlook Mobile app users to record videos from their smartphones. The email client has said that users can “seamlessly” add videos to emails, this feature is being developed.
Through this new feature, Microsoft hopes that the introduction would make the communication process much easier. It is especially for customers who want to attach or incorporate video footage in an Outlook email by removing a time-consuming and tedious step.
Upload videos in Outlook
According to the software giant, the feature will make use of Microsoft’s OneDrive for Business. It is an enterprise-focused cloud backup and storage platform with a higher storage capacity. Moreover, there are more advanced features that enable the upload of any type of video.
Uploading videos to OneDrive will leverage OneDrive for Business, according to the Microsoft 365 roadmap. It will allow users to benefit from increased storage space and large limits for video size and length.
The service will initially only be accessible to Android users. However, if it is a success, we anticipate that it will eventually be made available to iOS users as well.
A preview of the upgrade, which is now marked as “in development,” should be made available this month. Moreover, a complete deployment is expected to follow shortly after.
As Microsoft Outlook aims to remain relevant and helpful to its users, this is its latest improvement in recent months.
Reactions were recently added to Outlook, offering users the option to “thumbs up, laugh, heart, celebrate, or shed a tear in reaction to emails” and give their communications a bit more personality.
Microsoft Teams, the company’s video conferencing service, is also developing a feature that will integrate Teams chat into Outlook. It enables users to send a quick message or review a chat without opening Microsoft Teams separately. Thus, eliminating the need for users to switch between apps.
